This specialized nano laboratory addresses the grand challenges associated with directed assembly of nanoscale materials into functional systems and architectures through the use of self-assembly, chemical patterning, and external fields.
The logo symbology uses the four uniquely defined shapes that can only fit into the working system in one specific prescribed way, representing the labs’s goal of creating elements that can self-identify and self-assemble into functional systems, i.e. a nanoscale valve or switch.
