ACCESS: Advanced Computational Center for Entry System Simulation
This project was commissioned by the Univ. of CO’s Aerospace division as part of the National Security Initiative. Specifically. The emblem was designed for a future NASA mission focused on researching re-entry vehicles to be used on Mars. The primary challenge was to create a custom logo that could be reproduced as a traditional embroidered NASA-style patch/emblem.
The design process began by rendering the re-entry vehicle in Adobe Illustrator as vector art. This was then imported into Photoshop, where speed and heat effects were added. The final composition featured images of Earth’s moon, Saturn, and Mars, symbolizing the mission’s long-term trajectory, all seamlessly integrated into the logo.
